futurr light for iPhone and Apple Watch · Last updated 17 October 2026 (location and weather)

In short: futurr light reads your daylight and sleep from Apple Health, and optionally your approximate location for sunrise, sunset and the weather, and works them out on your iPhone and Apple Watch. Health data never leaves your devices; only the approximate location goes to Apple Weather for the forecast. There is no account, no server, no advertising and no tracking in the app.

Who we are

futurr light is made by futurr, an independent developer in the Netherlands, which is responsible for your data under this policy. Write to privacy@futurr.health with any question about it.

What the app reads

With your permission, futurr light reads two kinds of data from Apple Health:

You choose what to allow in the iOS Health permission screen and can change it at any time in Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → futurr light. The app only reads; it never writes to Health.

Your approximate location and the weather

If you allow it, futurr light uses your approximate location, accurate to a city rather than a street, for two things. Sunrise and sunset are worked out on your iPhone. For the day's cloud forecast, the app sends that approximate location, rounded to about 10 km, to Apple's weather service (Apple Weather), which returns the forecast; Apple handles it under Apple's privacy policy. Your location is never sent to us, and nothing from Health is ever sent with it. You can turn location off in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → futurr light; the app then falls back to fixed times of day and shows no forecast.

What happens to it

When you export

You can export your daylight and sleep as a CSV file. The file is created only when you ask for it, and you decide where it goes. Once you share it, it is handled by whatever app or person you send it to.

What we do not collect

The app has no account or sign-in, contains no analytics, advertising or third-party SDKs, and does not track you across apps or websites.

What Apple may share with us

If you have agreed to share analytics with app developers in iOS, Apple may give us anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. If you join the beta through TestFlight, Apple shares your name, email address, and any feedback or crash reports you send, so we can run the beta. These are processed by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.

Email

If you write to us, for example to join the beta at beta@futurr.health, we keep your email address and messages to reply and to run the beta. Email is hosted by Google Workspace. We delete it when the beta ends or when you ask.

This website

light.futurr.health is hosted by Vercel. To count visits it uses Vercel Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and reports only aggregated figures such as page views, country, and device type. Vercel processes IP addresses briefly to deliver the site and keep it secure. Fonts are served from this site, not from a third party.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may ask to see, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, which in practice is only email, and object to or restrict its use. Write to privacy@futurr.health. You can also complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Health data stays in Apple Health on your devices, under your control. Deleting futurr light removes the little it stores itself; your Health data stays in Health.

Children

futurr light is not intended for children under 16.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. If a change affects how your data is used, the app will tell you before it takes effect.
